>> Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced Sunday that the group would assess the impact of its previous rocket and drone attacks on Israeli military targets before deciding on further action to avenge the slain commander.
In a televised address, Nasrallah said Hezbollah had successfully executed its planned attack, refuting Israeli military claims that its preemptive strikes had thwarted a larger attack by the group.
>> Iran’s foreign minister has again referred to his country’s planned retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday evening that he made the comment in a telephone conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
“Iran’s reaction to the Israeli terrorist attack in Tehran is decisive, measured and well-calculated,” Araghchi wrote on social media platform X. “We are not afraid of escalation, but we are not seeking it either, unlike Israel.”
>> The Israeli military announced Sunday that more than a million doses of polio vaccine had been delivered to Gaza, following the first confirmed case of the disease in the territory in 25 years. However, with more than 25,000 vials to distribute, it remains unclear how and when they will be administered amid the ongoing conflict, which has severely hampered humanitarian efforts during the 10-month war.
