ISRO Reschedules SSLV Launch for August 16 | Details

New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (International Broadcasting Organization) has rescheduled the launch of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) development flight to August 16 instead of August 15, which coincided with Independence Day.

The Indian Space Agency in a post on X announced the rescheduled date in a post on X saying that the launch window for Mission (SSLV)-D3/EOS-08 would be one hour from 9:17 am.

“SSLV-D3/EOS-08 Mission: The third development flight of SSLV is scheduled for launch on 16 August 2024, in a one-hour launch window commencing at 09:17 Hrs. IST,” the post read.

This release will be International Broadcasting OrganizationThe third launch mission this year marks the final demonstration flight of the SSLV, marking a key milestone in determining the rocket’s readiness and reliability, after which it will be transferred to industry.

“This flight completes the SSLV Development Project and enables operational missions for Indian industry and NSIL,” he said.

International Broadcasting OrganizationThe SSLV’s EOS-08 weighs 175.5 kg and carries all the advanced technology needed for the mission. This model is distinguished from the others by its rapid mounting capability for other rockets.

Furthermore, this satellite is designed to deploy small satellites weighing less than 500 kg into Earth orbit and has three main payloads.

According to International Broadcasting OrganizationThe third payload is of crucial importance as it supports preparations for India’s upcoming first manned space flight, the Gaganyaan mission.
