“It’s amazing”: Jared Isaacman exiting the capsule on a historic spacewalk

Polaris Dawn Spacewalk: Tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman and his team achieved a historic milestone by completing the world’s first private spacewalk on Thursday. Isaacman and his team, who led the mission as non-professional astronauts, ventured outside the Dragon spacecraft, marking a significant achievement in space exploration.

In collaboration with SpaceX, Isacman’s crew embarked on this daring mission hundreds of miles above Earth.

As they floated in the vast space, Isaacman calmly took in the view and commented, “It’s beautiful. At home we still have a lot of work to do, but from here it looks like a perfect world.”

After pre-breathing and cabin ventilation was complete, Isaacman opened the capsule’s custom hatch.

Cheers erupted from mission control at Cape Canaveral as Isaacman, the billionaire funder and commander of the mission, began to climb out. Using handrails to navigate the narrow hatch, he was tethered to the spacecraft by an umbilical hose that provided him with power, communications and pure oxygen.

Isaacman had 13 minutes to perform mobility tests, all against the stunning backdrop of Earth.

After successfully completing her tasks, she returned to the capsule. Sarah Gillis then prepared to go outside and perform similar mobility tests.
