Winning the lottery is a dream for many, and for one man it came true. A North Carolina man’s prediction that he would win the Cash 5 lottery jackpot on August 20 came true and he received a prize of ₹1,348,5828.
Confident in his chances, Cameron Vick purchased a $1 ticket from the North Carolina Education Lottery website. His confidence paid off when he matched the winning numbers and received a substantial prize.
Mr. Vick, 37, told lottery officials he told a man on his route that he would win the Cash 5 jackpot.
“I told him, ‘I’m going to win this,'” he recalled.
“It was something that came up all of a sudden,” he said. “I decided to play without any warning.”
Vick said that after winning he told the big news to one of his friends.
“He hugged me and started crying,” Vick said.
According to a statement by the North Carolina Education Lottery, “She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters on Monday and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $114,941. Vick said she plans to do some home repairs with her winnings.”
Cash 5 is one of six lottery games available in North Carolina. Tickets can be purchased at retail locations, online through the lottery website, or through the official North Carolina Lottery mobile app. Tuesday’s jackpot is $236,000 and the odds of winning the Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.
