Janmashtami festival began with 5251 lamps

Janmashtami: On behalf of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, clothes and ornaments were offered to Thakurji during a grand procession at 5:30 pm on Bhadrapada Krishna Saptami. Devotees came from all corners of the country to have darshan of Thakur ji dressed in auspicious attire amidst the sound of dhol, nagade, mridang, cymbals, majire and damru. Artists from various parts also participated in the procession. Devotees experienced supernatural joy in the procession.

Thousands of devotees, enthralled with the darshan, also danced during this period. Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan secretary Kapil Sharma and member Gopeshwarnath Chaturvedi said that the procession first reached the temple of Shri Keshavdevji. Here, after offering clothes and make-up to Keshavdevji, Mother Yogamayaji was worshipped. After this, dress and make-up were offered to her.

Dancing, grooving and full of fun, the devotees offered clothes at the Shri Garbhagriha temple. A Somachandrika dress, a gem-studded bracelet, gold and silver jewellery, puja utensils etc., the couple of Shri Radha Krishna present at Bhagwat Bhavan, were offered to the government. Amidst chanting of mantras along with Vedadhvani, Mangaldhvani and offering of costumes and make-up to Thakurji, the artistes, Mangal instrumentalists and devotees who came from different parts of the country danced with joy and fun while performing Harinam Sankirtan.

After offering the clothes, Shrikriman Janmasthan Seva Sansthan Secretary Kapil Sharma and member Gopeshwarnath Chaturvedi offered 5251 cow ghee lamps to Thakurji in front of the Shri Deity of Shri Giriraj Maharaj located on the premises. On this occasion, a large number of devotees participated in the festival of lights.
