Kangana Ranaut recalls her early days in Bollywood

During her interaction with Dainik Bhaskar, Kangana was asked about her initial days in the industry and when she started expressing her opinions, it hurt people. She replied, “Yes, I have said it many times. I moved to Mumbai in 2004 and my first film released in 2006. I faced failures in the first 8 to 10 years. It is said that I became a successful actress in 2014. If you see my track record till 2014, people will call me ‘bechari’ and say that I am nice and underutilised. I am a good actress, but I don’t get work. Till now, I am a ‘bechari’ for people. When in 2014, my film turned out to be a hit, people started saying that she comes from a small town, she has had success galore and she doesn’t deserve it. At that time, things like ‘I am unprofessional, I have issues’ started coming up. Then came Tanu Weds Manu and I broke all the records of a successful career. After that, the kind of abuse and harassment I faced, I prayed to God that I could do whatever I wanted. I shouldn’t have been a successful actor.”

She added that people started blaming her and gave her nicknames like ‘W***e, W***h, Stalker’ and even cases started coming up against her. Talking about the problems she faced, Kangana shared, “People with whom I had a breakup 4 years ago, sent me notices saying ‘I had an affair with them’. What is that notice? People like Ketan Mehta, Karan Johar and more people told me to leave the industry. I faced controversies every day. For the last 10 years, I was totally harmless, in 2 years I became a psychopath, stalker, p***h and more (to people). I became problematic in just 2 years and if a person is problematic, it would be from the beginning and not in 1-2 years. The film industry has a lot of (dwesh, irshya) hatred and jealousy. They have spoiled a lot of people and their careers, see the case of Sushant Singh Rajput.”

She even shared a clip of her interview on Instagram and wrote, “Is Bollywood’s jealousy the real reason for their downfall? Do they use their resources more to destroy than build?”

Kangana even spoke about the side effects of finding success in Bollywood. She shared her experience and said, “Till the time I faced failures, people had prepared me a lot on how to deal with them. And I want to tell every successful person that they should be prepared for success because if they succeed, it will destroy them. People will make their life so difficult that they will think it is better to take their own life and it has happened too. People don’t tell you about the side effects of success, these are the side effects of success.”
