Anand said- I have also changed as a human being. ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Raanjhanaa’ got so much love from the audience, seeing its success, my attitude also changed. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Anand said- If we talk about Kangana Ranaut, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ was released in the year 2011. Then in the year 2013, Kangana did a film like ‘Queen’ which was great. After this, Kangana appeared in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. There is a graph in the life of an actor which changes with time. As a director, I would never want to repeat myself in my work. Whenever I do, I will try to do something different. Kangana wanted to grow and she was moving forward. Perhaps one good thing that happened to us was that we were all hungry for success and wanted to create our own space.
“I have always thought that I don’t want to work in a very easy film. We never wanted things to be easy. I never thought that this is very easy for me. When Kangana came for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ after seeing its success, she seemed a little strict about her work. And I liked this thing about her.”
‘Tanu Weds Manu’ was a career defining film for Kangana. In 2006, Kangana made her debut with Anurag Basu’s film ‘Gangster’. Kangana also won many awards for this film. We were very excited for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. We thought that we will surprise our audience with this film. We were not thinking about making money, we just wanted the love of the audience. Which we got.
