Panagarh.

Subhankar Banerjee, an employee of the Kankasa BDO office from West Burdwan district, who had campaigned in Kolkata in connection with the RG tax scandal, was arrested on charges of attacking the police. He was released on bail. On September 3, he again reached the Kankasa BDO office for work. Following this, he was issued two consecutive show-cause notices. Sangrami Joint Manch leader Subhankar Banerjee was issued a suspension letter on Thursday. Subhankar alleged that even before he could reply to the show-cause notice, he received a suspension letter from the department. He said he was surprised that he was suspended even before he replied to the show-cause notice. He said he received the suspension letter as soon as he came to work on Thursday. The first show-cause letter was received on September 3, the day Kankasa joined the BDO office. The last date to reply is September 5. Another show-cause notice was issued on Wednesday. The deadline to respond was next Monday.

Meanwhile, a controversy started when he received the suspension letter just after joining duty on Thursday. As per the district magistrate’s order, under the government rule, Subhankar was arrested by the police, he has been suspended. He will not be able to come to work until further notice. This incident created panic in the surroundings. Subhankar said that he will not come to work from the next day. But he is shocked. They do not understand whether it is legal to respond to the show-cause notice given earlier or not to respond. There has been a huge stir among other employees of the BDO office regarding this suspension.
