On August 14, a man and the pooja ceremony will be held at the Karnataka Cine Artists Association building in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, with an aim to bring prosperity to the kannada movie industry.

Featured Producer Venkatesh Rock Line and senior actor Doddanna held a press conference on Sunday to clarify the purpose of the upcoming rituals and address public speculation.
Some in the industry have expressed concern that the ceremony could be linked to the actor’s recent legal troubles. DarshanHowever, Venkatesh was quick to dispel these rumours.
“If this homa was for darshan, I would have performed it at my home,” Venkatesh said. “The intention behind this ritual is purely for the general welfare and prosperity of the Kannada film industry, not for any particular person.”
It was decided a month ago.
Rockline Venkatesh explained that the idea for the ceremony came from a conversation with actor Doddanna, who had suggested the ceremony a month ago. The dates chosen, August 13 and 14, were chosen as auspicious for the event. “We decided that the ceremony should be held for the survival and prosperity of the entire Kannada film industry,” Venkatesh added.
He also stressed that while the ceremony is aimed at benefiting the industry as a whole, it is not a formal event involving industry associations like the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce or the Kannada Producers Association. “We are doing this as a collective effort to improve the industry, without any formal invitation,” Venkatesh said.
In his remarks, Venkatesh addressed the current state of Kannada Cinemahighlighting the decrease in local film screenings and the increase in dubbed films.
“There is growing concern about the absence of Kannada films in theatres and the increasing presence of dubbed films,” he said. “This change is partly due to audience preferences, which we need to address, but it also highlights the need for solutions to support and revitalise our local film industry.”
