Kolkata Police levelled serious allegations against the Nabanna Abhiyan protesters and arrested 126 people.

Nabanna Abhiyan, Vikas Gupta : Kolkata Police arrested a total of 126 protesters for carrying out violent demonstrations and deadly attacks on policemen during the Nabanna campaign called by the West Bengal Students Society on Tuesday. This includes 23 women protesters.

15 police officers were injured during the demonstration

On behalf of the police, it was said that a total of 15 policemen were involved in the deadly attack on the policemen by pelting bricks and stones on behalf of the violent protesting mob claiming it was a peaceful protest. In this case, Indira Mukherjee, DC (Central Division) of Kolkata Police at State Secretariat, Nabanna, said that the mob set a policeman’s bike on fire on Princep Street.

What accusations did the police make?

The police accused the protesters of assaulting the policemen. After this, the protesters vented their anger and vandalized many police vehicles. On behalf of Mukherjee, it was said that those who threw stones and bricks at the police during the attack are being identified in the video. Other accused will also be arrested soon in this case. Let me tell you, West Bengal On behalf of the student community, a demonstration was held against the murder and rape case of a junior doctor of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
