Hema Malini: “It is deeply disturbing that such a horrendous incident has happened again. Years ago, the country was shocked by the brutality of the Nirbhaya incident. The same is happening now. Women’s safety must be ensured everywhere, especially at workplaces.”

Neena Gupta: “I am trying to think of a way to stop these incidents but I am not finding a solution. Changing society will take a long time. I have been thinking a lot about how to protect women from predators but nothing seems to be working. It is a very sad situation, I really want someone to find a solution but I have not been able to. As far as my safety is concerned, I am too old and my profession is such that I am safe with my units etc. but for young single working women, I am sorry. I have no advice.”

Divya Khossla: “I am distraught, shocked and heartbroken by the recent rape incident that took place in Kolkata. Another soul shattered, another spirit broken. When will this end? This heinous crime deserves the severest punishment. Justice is our right, we owe it to every woman in this country.

Dia Mirza: “I don’t feel safe in my own country. My family fears for my safety and the safety of women more than ever. There are some seriously sick minds plaguing our nation and it is time to address this epidemic disease. If we ignore the ugly truth about the existence of perverse minds in our society, we will not be able to help change, educate or bring about any kind of reform.”

Pooja Bedi: “There is no country free from crime. What is disturbing is the political lip service and lack of concrete measures to strengthen law enforcement.”
