Devesh Pandey, Lakhimpur Kheri: The people of Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh are suffering from dengue and malaria but the deputy marketing officer is worried about their marriage. He is so haunted by the ghost of marriage that he is pressurising an Asha worker to get married. The husband of the Asha worker says that the deputy marketing officer Lal ji Pasi calls his wife at midnight due to which she is very upset. We also complained about this to the CMO but he has not taken any action yet. I was forced to lodge a complaint with the DM. Asha Kamarjahan, a resident of Lalapur village, who works at CHC Ramiyabehad, contacted the DM with a complaint letter and said that the deputy marketing officer Lalji Pasi is forcefully pressurising me to get married. I am very worried about this. A complaint was lodged with the CMO but no action has been taken. He calls me late at night. Hearing this incident from her mouth, the DM and other officials present were shocked.

In the complaint letter handed over to the DM, it is written that Deputy Marketing Director Lalji Pasi started calling her from different mobile numbers at around 10 pm on August 29 and 12 am on August 30 and started pressurizing her to get married forcibly. If she does not do so, they threaten to kill him. The husband Hanif Ahmed says that he calls late at night and asks her to get married. Hurt by these daily calls, she complained to the CMO a few days ago but he did not take any action while the Deputy CMO is continuously harassing the wife to get married. Due to this, the wife is mentally disturbed and fears threats. Hanif Ahmed said that he therefore submitted an application to the DM on Monday demanding that action be taken. The DM has ordered an inquiry into the entire matter.

Dr Santosh Gupta, CMO, said that an Asha employee had come with the complaint. In the recording he has played, neither the voice of the deputy marketing manager nor his number can be heard. However, the entire incident is being investigated. Action will be taken when the report comes in.
