Lando Norris makes shocking confession about drinking alcohol during races

Formula 1 driver Lando Norris is currently at the top of motorsports as he has emerged as the latest and strongest contender for the Drivers’ Championship. Furthermore, he has helped his team close in on Red Bull Racing in the Constructors’ Championship table. Red Bull currently barely has the lead over McLaren with just 8 points. As for Lando Norris, he is currently chasing Max Verstappen’s lead in the Drivers’ Championship. Max Verstappen currently has a 62-point lead over Norris.

Red Bull is experiencing a serious performance problem that has left it struggling to even get on the podium. McLaren is taking advantage of this situation and, if Red Bull does not solve its problems, it could lose both championships.

Lando Norris confesses that he drank a lot

McLaren driver Lando Norris has admitted that he doesn’t drink any liquids during a Grand Prix race, which he attributes to nerves before the start of the race. He has even confessed that he often doesn’t even carry a bottle in the car.

Asked how he deals with not drinking fluids because of nerves, Lando Norris said: “There are ways to deal with it. There will be days when I can eat a little bit more and there will be other days when I can’t do much.”

“Of course, fluids are generally one of the best ways to get food. I can usually drink quite a bit in the morning and can easily combine my drinks with certain carbohydrates and beverages for long-term energy.”

Problems during races

Lando Norris further explained that his lack of drinking during races extends to feature races, as Norris explained that in his entire time in Formula One, he only carried a bottle of water in his car on two occasions, and that was also when he was extremely ill.

It is considered normal for Formula One drivers to drink fluids during races, as the car gets very hot due to the extremely physical racing.

“I never drink during a race. I often don’t run with a drink bottle.

“I think I’ve had a drink from my water bottle twice in Formula One, and both times when I was very ill, like in Barcelona a couple of years ago.

“I try and do it, but I find it very difficult and often forget. [I] I don’t like drinking during the race.

“But there are other ways to make sure I have good energy, with bars and certain drinks that I can take in small amounts, but in high concentration.”

Lando Norris also stated that although he gets quite nervous before a race, he has never gotten to the point of getting physically ill before a race.
