Lucknow man orders iPhone on delivery from Flipkart and kills delivery boy

A 30-year-old delivery driver was allegedly murdered by two subjects during a iPhone delivery, according to police reports on Monday.

The victim had gone to hand over the phone to one of the accused, who had to pay Rs 1.5 lakh for the product. Officials said the suspects disposed of the body in the Indira Canal and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was deployed to locate it.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh said Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat, had ordered the iPhone, worth around Rs 1.5 lakh, from Flipkart using Cash on Delivery (COD) option.

“On September 23, delivery boy Bharat Sahu of Nishatganj went to deliver the phone to Gajanan. Gajanan and his accomplice killed him. After strangling Sahu, they put his body in a sack and threw it in the Indira canal.” Singh said.

When Sahu did not return home after two days, his family filed a missing complaint on September 25 at the Chinhat police station.

During investigation, police traced Gajanan’s number through Sahu’s call records and subsequently contacted his friend Akash.

During interrogation, Akash confessed to the crime, according to the DCP. Authorities are still searching for Sahu’s body.
