On Saturday night, in a daring robbery, luxury watches worth crores of rupees were stolen from a high-end showroom in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad. The incident took place at Sai Creations owned by Shyam Sunder Gupta, located in Ahinsa Khand 2 under the jurisdiction of Indirapuram police station.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimish Patil, “8-10 masked men entered the showroom” and managed to flee with watches worth Rs 30 crore. The robbers executed their plan quickly, shoving the entire inventory of watches into five bags within half an hour before escaping.
The showroom, located between two police outposts, was completely emptied of its exhibits and cash. Mukund Sharma, the manager of the showroom, confirmed the robbery and said the stolen luxury watches were worth a total of around Rs 30 crore.
The crime was captured by the exhibition hall’s security cameras. The robbery was discovered by the exhibition hall owner, who reviewed the footage on his mobile phone the following morning.
Following the robbery, two policemen have been suspended for dereliction of duty. “Indirapuram police chief Jitendra Dixit and Lal Chand Kanojia, in-charge of Kanawani police outpost, have been suspended,” PTI reported.
Indirapuram police superintendent Swatantra Kumar said a complaint was lodged on Sunday morning about an “unknown gang of robbers” involved in the robbery. He added that a case has been registered and investigation teams are actively working on the case.
