  • First of all prepare the dough for Gujiya.
  • To prepare the dough, add a quarter cup of ghee to 2 cups of flour and knead a dough that is harder than puri. Knead this dough until it becomes smooth and leave it for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Now put 100 grams of mawa in a non-stick pan and cook it while stirring until its color turns light brown. While cooking mawa, keep the flame low.
  • When the mawa turns light brown, turn off the heat and let it cool on a plate.
  • After this, add cashews, raisins, powdered sugar, cardamom and grated coconut to the mawa and mix well.
  • Now knead the dough and make it smooth.
  • Now break this dough into small balls.
  • Roll these balls into small puris and then place the prepared mawa inside.
  • Now apply water on the edges of the puri and shape it like a gujiya. If you want, you can also use a mould.
  • Now heat ghee in a pan and fry these gujiyas till they turn light brown in colour.
  • Take out the well-fried Gujiya and set it aside on a plate.
  • Your delicious Mawa Gujiya is ready.
