Make Your Own Tirupati Laddu At Home With This Simple Recipe

Tirupati Laddu is a sacred sweet offered to the deity at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. This famous prasad holds a special place in the hearts of devotees across India as an offering to God.

Ingredients 

  • Chickpea flour 400g
  • Ghee 1 liter
  • sugar 350 g
  • almond 50g
  • Cashew 100g
  • rock sugar 20g
  • cardamom 10g
  • milk 300ml
  • rice flour 100g
  • sugar 100g (for mixing)

Instructions 

  • In a bowl, add 100 g of sugar together with the milk and mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  • After the sugar has dissolved, add the rice flour and mix well without any lumps.
  • Next, add the chickpea flour little by little and mix without lumps.
  • If necessary, add milk. Prepare a thick and fluid dough. The dough is ready.
  • Heat ghee in a kadai using iron kadai. Preheat ghee for frying bondi
  • Use a boondhi spoon and pour the batter over it. Just add oil to get the boondhi.
  • Fry well till it turns golden brown. As we add milk and sugar to the batter, it gets a nice brown colour. Once done, strain the excess oil and remove the boondhi. Frying in ghee also gives a nice colour, flavour and aroma.
  • In the same hot ghee, fry the cashews and almonds.
  • Fry the raisins, do not burn them.
  • Grind the boondhi in a mixing jar coarsely to get the texture of tirupathi ladoo.
  • You can also grind half of the boondhi and mix it in. Transfer it to a plate.
  • Let’s prepare the syrup. Add 250-300 g of sugar to a saucepan.
  • Add water until the sugar just slightly submerges the water.
  • Add cardamom and mix well. Stir well and boil till it has a single thread consistency. Get everything ready to mix and prepare laddu
  • Now add the sugar syrup to the prepared boondi, add all the other ingredients now dry nuts, raisins, sweet sugar.
  • Add a little ghee and mix well. Let it sit for a minute or two.
  • Try to make the ladoo while it is still warm. Press it well to form a round shape. You can make it in any size and shape you like.
  • Tirupathi ladoo will be ready after cooling, store it in an airtight box.
