A video showing an armed forces officer taking action against a motorist who was driving in the wrong lane in Bengaluru has garnered widespread attention on social media. This comes amid ongoing issues in the city with poor road conditions, traffic congestion and road rage incidents.

Dashcam footage, shared by user X Madhur (@ThePlacardGuy), shows a moving car suddenly stopping to avoid a scooter approaching from the wrong side. The road was designated for one-way traffic, but the scooter driver was driving in the wrong direction. An altercation ensues when the scooter driver demands that the car move aside.

The situation escalates when an armed forces truck stops nearby and an officer intervenes. The officer is seen hitting the motorist on the head for violating traffic rules and appears to berate him. When the motorist does not immediately comply, the officer retrieves what appears to be a stick or baton from the truck and uses it to further discipline the offender. This commotion draws the attention of nearby traffic police and the motorist is eventually seen moving into the correct lane.

One X user commented: “I will pay more taxes to have army trucks patrolling Bangalore roads on a daily basis.” Another user suggested: “People coming from the wrong side should be slapped and beaten before being fined and their vehicle confiscated.”
