Special safety feature added in Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso, no change in price

Maruti Suzuki has added an Electronic Safety Programme (ESP) as a safety feature on the Alto K10 and S-Presso. All variants of both the entry-level hatchbacks now feature ESP. Despite the addition of new features, there is no change in the prices of both the models.

How does ESP work?

With this update, all Maruti Suzuki models except Eeco are now available with ESP as standard. Electronic Stability Program (ESP) System Integrating the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS) and Stability Control (SC), the ESP system uses a network of sensors to monitor vehicle speed and dynamics. Other features

Apart from ESP, the standard safety suite across the Maruti Suzuki portfolio includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensor, engine immobiliser, collapsible steering column, etc. However, as per an order by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, all passenger vehicles across all brands and segments will be required to get six airbags as standard from October 31, 2024.

High K10 and S-Presso

Both the Alto K10 and S-Presso are based on the Heartect platform. The hatchback gets the same 1.0-litre K10 naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 67 bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Mileage of the Alto K10 in the CNG variant?

The CNG variant of the Alto K10 claims to offer customers a mileage of 33.85 kilometres per kilogram. The engine of the Maruti CNG car is capable of generating a maximum power of 40.3 bhp and a peak torque of 60 Nm. While the tank capacity of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is 60 litres.
