Maserati has announced that the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore variant will not be available in India at first. Philippe Claverol, Head of Maserati’s International Division, commented: “The debut of the Maserati GranTurismo in India represents an important milestone for us, as it fuses Maserati’s rich heritage with groundbreaking innovation.”

He added: “This demonstrates our commitment to automotive excellence by offering powerful internal combustion engines and cutting-edge electric options.” Maserati will also introduce the GranCabrio and GT2 Stradale in limited numbers in the future.

The GranTurismo is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, tuned differently for each variant. The Modena’s engine produces 490 PS and 600 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. The Trofeo variant, with 550 PS and 650 Nm, hits 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

Both models come with all-wheel drive and feature a modern interior with multiple touchscreens and optional upgrades like a head-up display and a premium Sonus Faber audio system.
The GranTurismo will compete in India with models such as the BMW M8 Competition, Ferrari Roma and Aston Martin DB12. It will be available at Maserati dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The all-electric version of the Folgore is expected to arrive in 2025.
