Will Max Verstappen leave Red Bull for Aston Martin? F1 champion leaves door open for reunion with Adrian Newey

Following the recent controversy surrounding Red Bull team principal Christian Horner and his relationship with Verstappen’s father, Jos has reportedly taken a wrong turn and questions have since been raised over the driver’s long-term future.

Verstappen’s current contract expires in 2028 and he still has a chance of securing a fourth consecutive F1 title. With eight races remaining, he leads Lando Norris by 62 points and could still win a fourth title with Newey at Red Bull.

Asked if he would be willing to follow Newey at Aston Martin, he replied:

“That’s something I might think about in the future, but not right now.

“He [Newey’s departure] It’s okay, Adrian and I get along very well. I texted him after the news broke, so I’m happy for him.

“I’ve always said I would have loved for him to stay, but you can’t change these things. I’m excited about people looking for new challenges.

“I know Lawrence [Stroll, Aston Martin owner] “Aston Martin is working hard to make it a success.”
