Devendra Nath Champia had a strong hold on this seat.

Devendra Nath Champia had a strong hold on the Mazgaon assembly seat. He won this seat once as an independent and thrice as a Congress candidate. From 1980 to 1995, this seat was continuously held by the Congress. In the year 2000, BJP opened its account for the first time with the help of Badkunwar Gagrai.

JMM wins here for the first time

The BJP won here again in 2009. JMM also claimed his right to this seat. from JMM Simple compliance He won the first election in 2005, after which he won the elections thrice. Politics has been played out in the name of water, forests and land in the Mazgaon assembly constituency. But the public is not benefiting. Electricity, water, irrigation, sanitation and migration have become important issues in every election.

Even today many roads are incomplete.

Even today many major roads are incomplete. The biggest problem of Mazgaon block has been the building of the referral hospital. Last year, the local MLA had laid its foundation stone. But the work could not begin. There are four blocks in this assembly. This includes Mazgaon, Kumardungi, Manjhari and Tantnagar.

The pace of development in the area is very slow: Anant

The pace of development in the Mazgaon Vis area is rather slow. The facilities that could have been available here are currently not available. By improving the irrigation system, it can be made accessible for agriculture. There are also many possibilities for tourism in the area. Attention needs to be paid to that. The closed mines should be opened. This will create employment.

What are the problems here?

There is no benefit from the channel.

The people of this region earn their livelihood from agriculture. But due to lack of better irrigation system, they are unable to engage in agriculture. Keeping in mind the demands of the farmers, an irrigation canal was constructed connecting Mazgaon and Kumardungi blocks. But due to poor quality, the canal collapsed in the first year itself. The construction company kept repairing the canal. But the farmers did not get much benefit.

Health

Healthcare conditions in Mazgaon are poor. Despite having a referral hospital, villagers are dependent on Odisha for better medical care, as the community health centre building here is completely dilapidated. But work has not yet started.

Education

There are 98 schools in the block. But in most schools the work is done by just one teacher. At the Plus Two school there are more than 1,400 students, while only eight teachers are assigned. Due to the shortage of teachers, most of the children drop out of school.

The ganga of development flows: Niral Purti

JMM MLA Niral Purti claimed that the Ganga of development has been flowing in the assembly constituency for the last 10 years. There is a network of roads here. He said there is no railway line here. There is no national highway. There is no industry. There is no mine. Still, today our region occupies the first position at the district level in terms of education. Being a plateau area, there is difficulty in irrigation. Still, the irrigation system is being improved by implementing many projects. Irrigation schemes have been made from Torlo and Belma dams. We will make our assembly constituency a hub of education and take it on the path of development.

There will be progress only if the farmer moves forward: Badkunwar

Former MP Barkunwar Gagrai, who stood third in the 2019 assembly elections, said that development work here is completely stalled for the last 10 years. Today, farmers in the area are worried. They do agriculture depending on rainwater. If there is no agriculture, then youth and farmers migrate to work as daily wage labourers in metropolitan cities in search of employment. But the local MLA has not taken any initiative to resolve this situation.

There is a major problem with healthcare in the assembly constituency. For minor check-ups, patients have to go to Odisha or Chaibasa. If there was a medical check-up centre at the referral hospital itself, the people of this area would have had a lot of convenience.

kamal shahid

Unemployment is the biggest problem here. There is not a single mine here. There are no companies either. As a result, thousands of young people have to go to Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Gujarat and Kolkata in search of employment. Public officials should take the initiative in this direction.
