MBBS FEES INCREASE: If you are studying medicine in Punjab or thinking of studying medicine, let us tell you that doing MBBS in Punjab has become expensive. The Punjab Medical Education and Research Department has issued an official notification informing that medical fees have been increased to regulate MBBS admission in all public and private colleges in the state. If you are studying in any private or government medical college in Punjab, your MBBS fees have been increased by 5 percent.

The official notification said that admissions will be made in 1,550 seats in Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFHUS). Of these seats, 750 are from four government medical colleges in the state and 800 are from medical institutes in four private states and two minority states.

How much have fees increased in which medical school?

Let us inform you that the notification says that MBBS fees in four government medical colleges of Amritsar, Faridkot, Patiala and Mohali have been increased from Rs 9.05 lakh to Rs 9.50 lakh. The full MBBS course fee for all management quota seats in private medical colleges has been increased from Rs 55.28 lakh to Rs 58.02 lakh. The fees for all MBBS seats under government quota in all private medical colleges in the state have been increased from Rs 21.48 lakh to Rs 22.54 lakh.

How many MBBS seats are there in each quota?

50 per cent of MBBS seats in all private medical colleges in Punjab are reserved for government quota. Apart from this, in the remaining 50 per cent seats, 35 per cent of MBBS seats are for management quota and 15 per cent seats are for NRI quota. The fees for all MBBS seats under NRI quota have not been increased. The fee for NRI quota MBBS seats is 1.10 lakh USD.

CMC Ludhiana Medical College has not made any changes in the fees of MBBS seats in its college.
