In August 2024, the purchase of land from Indo Global Infotech City LLP was documented in the agreement. In addition to a registration fee of Rs. 30,000, the agreement included a stamp duty of Rs. 31.18 crore.
Microsoft also purchased a 25-acre plot for Rs. 328 crore in Pimpri-Chinchiwad in 2022. Microsoft also acquired 48 acres of land for Rs. 267 crore in Hyderabad earlier in the year. Microsoft made both deals in an effort to expand its presence in India, specifically in its data center operations. The company strengthened its presence in core markets as its data centers are already located in Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune.
