Mirzapur Season 3 Extra Episode
After the huge success of the last season of ‘Mirzapur’, Amazon Prime is set to release the extra episode of season 3 and has hinted at the return of Munna Tripathi played by Divyendu Sharma.
The streaming platform has released a promo for the bonus episode, and fans are speculating about the possible return of Mirzapur’s iconic character Munna Bhaiyya.
When season 3 released, fans requested his return to the show to take Bhaukaal into the ‘Mirzapur’ universe. Mirzapur season 2 directed by Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer features a stellar cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Anjumm Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Meghna Malik and Manu Rishi Chadha.
However, Divyenndu Sharma had earlier this year confirmed that he would not be a part of the final season. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor said, “I must declare that I am not a part of Mirzapur season 3. When I was in character, it affected my personality a lot. We should not romanticise too much about going too deep into a character, because it is not easy. Sometimes, it used to get very dark for me. I felt suffocated. It is so complicated that you don’t even realise that you are in that zone. It is only when you come out of it that you realise how dark it was.”
Sharma is known for several roles in films like ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, ‘Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, but rose to popularity with Mirzapur. The series established the 41-year-old actor as a prominent face in the industry.
What is the release date of Mirzapur Extra Episode?
Initially, the bonus episode was scheduled to be released on August 24, however, it was delayed and now fans are expecting it to be released in September.
About ‘Mirzapur’
The action-crime series Mirzapur is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The series is produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and is set in the heart of Uttar Pradesh. The story revolves around Akhadanan Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiyya, played by Pankaj Tripathi. Tripathi is a gangster and businessman who wants to be the top boss.
The first season aired in 2018 and became an instant hit, becoming the most-watched series in India after ‘Sacred Games’. The third season of Mirzapur premiered on Prime Video in July.
The makers of Mirzapur have confirmed that they have started working on the fourth season, which will further explore the power dynamics within the criminal world. Fans are desperately wanting the possible return of Munna Bhaiya, however, how this will be possible remains a mystery. The release date of Mirzapur season 4 is not confirmed yet. However, it is expected to premiere in 2025 or 2026.
