AgodaThe latest ranking of returning visitors reveals that Indian travellers are more likely than ever to revisit their favourite destinations. A whopping 67% of Indian travellers have booked multiple trips to the same place, according to the survey.
Thailand, Vietnamand Indonesia topped the list as the most popular destinations for repeat visits, followed by Singapore and France. Adventure seekers made up the largest group of respondents, with 42% citing it as the primary reason for their return trips. Food, arts and culture, and family reunions were also popular motivations. 58% of repeat travelers have visited their favorite destination 1-3 times in the past decade, accounting for the largest share of repeat visitors. 4% of travelers have even visited their favorite destination ten times or more.
When asked what makes their favourite markets so irresistible, Indian travellers frequently mentioned “local cuisine”, “ease of travel” and “affordability”. Additionally, three in ten Indian travellers cited “the friendliness of the locals” as a major reason for returning.
From an Asian perspective, the survey highlights Japan, Thailand and Vietnam as the top must-visit destinations for Asian travelers. “Ease of travel” emerged as the top travel motive, with 44% of Asian travelers citing it as the main reason for returning to their favorite destinations.
