India prepares to commemorate its inauguration National Space Day On August 23, 2024, India achieved a milestone in its history of space exploration, following the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission. In 2023, India achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the fourth country to land on the Moon and the first to achieve a landing near its south polar region.
To commemorate this important milestone, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi declared 23rd August as ‘National Space Day’. This declaration celebrates India’s advancements in space research and exploration and marks a recognition of the country’s technological advancements in this field.

A grand two-day event is scheduled at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, which will feature high-profile sessions, interactive exhibits and important announcements on India’s space achievements. The event will feature mobile exhibits called ‘Space on Wheels’, which will visit universities and colleges across the country. This initiative aims to educate students about ISRO’s activities and India’s pioneering space missions.
