Navya Naveli Nanda joins IIM Ahmedabad: How Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter got admission

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda recently got admission into the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She will pursue the Combined Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) in Ahmedabad Institute of Medical Information from 2024 to 2026.

Sharing a series of photos on Instagram, the 26-year-old wrote: “Dreams do come true!!!!!! Next 2 years…with the best people and faculty! Blended Graduate Program (BPGP) Class of 2026.”

Apart from this, she also shared a snap of herself cutting a cake on Instagram Stories. Nanda thanked her teacher for guiding her to crack the CAT/IAT entrance exams.

Following her post on social media, many were curious about how she managed to get admitted into an institution, which normally requires between 99 and 100 percent.

On social networking site X, a user tagged Promila Agarwal, an associate professor at Ahmedabad Institute of Medical Information and asked if Nanda got “that crazy 99.99 percentile”

“Professor @promila_agarwal Navya who makes it to IIMA in SM is having a great time. Did she really get that amazing 99.99 percentile?” wrote user X.

Replying to the user, Agarwal wrote, “By the way, you have a solid CV*. You don’t need to have a CAT. Link**. Anyway, I take my hat off to everyone for being brave enough to enroll in a rigorous program.”

She added, “PS: Like other students, I look forward to your posts complaining about the difficult life at IIMA.” She accompanied the post with a smiley emoji.

The associate professor then also shared a link explaining the eligibility criteria for admissions.

As per the eligibility criteria for the Combined Postgraduate Programme (BPGP), the candidate must be a working professional and entrepreneur, with a minimum of three years of full-time work experience. The minimum age requirement for this course is 24 years, though there is no upper age limit. In addition, the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree/CA/CS/ICWA or equivalent in any discipline.

To be admitted to this program, candidates must take the IIMA Online Admission Test (IAT) designed for an online MBA; or a valid CAT score; or a valid GMAT/GRE score.

For the final selection, shortlisted candidates are invited to personal interviews.

The Combined Graduate Programme, introduced this year, is a hybrid course that integrates face-to-face sessions with live online interactive classes. The programme aims to enable working individuals and business owners to manage their academic activities and professional responsibilities.

Navya Nanda, daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, a graduate in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University in the United States, is co-founder of a startup called Aara Health, which focuses on improving menstrual hygiene, in addition to providing health solutions for women.
