NEET UG Counselling 2024: The registration process for NEET UG counselling will begin tomorrow from August 14, 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct NEET UG 2024 counselling in four rounds. These rounds include Round 1, Round 2, All-India Quota Round 3 and an online vacancy round. NEET students who are qualified for the medical entrance exam will be able to register for the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, B.Sc (Nursing) courses from tomorrow. Through the counselling, admission of around 1.10 lakh MBBS seats from 710 medical colleges and 27,868 BDS seats from dental colleges in the country will be done. Through MCC counselling, admission will be done in 15 per cent seats of All India Quota and 100 per cent seats of all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, 100 per cent seats of all Central Universities and Deemed Universities. Counselling for admission to 85 per cent seats in Medical Colleges of the State.

The registration window for MCC Counselling Round 1 will be open from August 14 to August 20 at 12 noon. Students can deposit the fees till 3 pm on August 20. Filling of options will begin from August 16 and will end on August 20 at 11:55 pm. Locking of options will be available from 4 pm to 11:55 pm on August 20. The participating institutes and the National Medical Commission will verify the tentative seat matrix on August 14 and 15. The seat allotment process for Round 1 will be held on August 21 and 22, the results of which will be declared on August 23. Candidates will have to report to the allotted institute between August 24 and 29.

The verification of the seat matrix for the second round of NEET UG counselling will be done by the institutes from September 4 to 5. The registration process will start from September 5 and will continue till September 10 (12 noon). The fee payment facility will be available till 3 pm on September 10. The choice filling will start from September 6 and will end on September 10 at 11.55 pm. The blocking of choices will be done on September 10 from 4 pm to 11.55 pm. The result of the second round seat allotment will be declared on September 13.

Explaining the NEET UG 2024 counselling process, the Centre had told the Supreme Court that students will be allowed to change seats as per the preferences chosen by them in the first and second rounds. In such a situation, if the seats are cancelled before the third round, it will not have any impact on the overall counselling and seat allotment. The third round of counselling for NEET is expected to begin in the second week of September. If the candidature is cancelled after the third round, the vacant seats can still be offered in the subsequent rounds. However, candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round will not be allowed to contest the subsequent rounds. In the third situation, if any candidature is cancelled after the fourth and final round, the vacant seats will be filled in a further round based on the approval of the Supreme Court.
