The change in stipend rules will be applicable to all of them.

According to the order, first-year PG residents, who were previously paid Rs 45,000 per month, will get Rs 56,250, while third-year residents will get Rs 68,750 instead of Rs 55,000. Super-specialty residents will get Rs 68,750 in the first year, Rs 75,000 in the second year and Rs 81,250 in the third year. While senior residents doing mandatory government services will now get Rs 75,000 per month.

Please be advised that resident doctors have been protesting for the past few days demanding an increase in stipend. They protested for 16 days from August 5 and suspended non-emergency services from August 12. A delegation from the Karnataka Resident Doctors Association (KARD) met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday. The association informally withdrew its protest after Siddaramaiah assured them of a 25 per cent increase in their stipend.
