NEET-UG Judgment 24: Review petition against the Supreme Court’s August 2 order

New Delhi: A petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking review of its order which rejected the holding of NEET-And 2024 again.

The apex court, in its August 2 order, had said there was not enough material on record at that time to indicate a systemic leak or malpractice that would compromise the integrity of the exam.

The review petition filed by Kajal Kumari seeks reconsideration of the high court’s order.

The top court had extended the mandate of the Centre-appointed panel headed by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) memberInternational Broadcasting Organization) Chief K Radhakrishnan was appointed to review the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the National Eligibility and Admission Examination (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG) and recommend reforms in the examinations.

The court had said that since the panel’s remit had been expanded, the committee would submit its report by September 30 on various measures to address the deficiencies in the examination system.

The high court had ordered the NTA ensure that all concerns highlighted by the court in its judgment are addressed and asked the seven-member committee to take these issues into account when making its recommendations.

More than 23 lakh students took the NEET-UG 2024 was held on 5th May for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses.
