Abua Awas Yojana 2024 List: Abua Awas Yojana has been released by the Jharkhand government, through which people will be provided financial assistance so that they can get a three-bedroom house and a permanent house. The Jharkhand government launched Abua Awas Yojana on 15 August 2023, which aims to provide 3-bedroom permanent houses at a cost of Rs 2 lakh to people belonging to the poor class or who do not have a house to live in. The first tranche of this scheme was released on 23 January 2024.

The benefit of this scheme will be available to those people who for some reason have not been able to avail the benefits of PM Awas Yojana. Under Abua Awas Yojana, a target has been set to provide housing to 8 lakh poor families by March 31, 2026. So far, over 31 lakh applications have been received for this scheme, out of which 29.97 lakh have been verified. An amount of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the beneficiaries in five instalments for construction of houses. In the first tranche, 15 per cent of the total cost i.e. Rs 30,000 will be provided to the beneficiaries for construction of the house.

What is Abu Awas Yojana 2024?

Announcement of the second list of Abu Awas Yojana

All eligible beneficiaries who received benefits under the first phase of the Abua Housing Scheme are hereby informed that the second instalment will be released soon. However, before this, the government will release the second list of beneficiaries, and only those beneficiaries whose names are included in this list will receive the second instalment. The date of the official announcement of the second list has not been revealed at the moment, but it is expected that it will be posted on the official website of the scheme soon.

Second installment of Abu Awas Yojana 2024

In the second phase of the Abua Housing Scheme, financial assistance will be provided to the beneficiaries in the form of a second instalment. In the first phase, the first instalment of Rs 30,000 was transferred to the bank accounts of around 1,60,000 beneficiaries. However, there were around 30,000 applicants who could not get this amount as DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) was not activated in their bank accounts. Now, in the second phase of the scheme, the government will also release the list of names of the beneficiaries who will be provided with the second instalment.

Update News: First installment released

The first tranche of Abua Awas Yojana was released to 25,000 poor beneficiaries by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Chapai Soren Kolhan on 9th February 2024. This amount has been directly deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Under the scheme, an assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh will be provided in five instalments, with the first instalment being Rs 30,000 i.e. 15% of the total amount.

Over 31 lakh applications under Abua Awas Yojana

Recently, Jharkhand Rural Development Department Secretary Chandrashekhar said that under the Abua Housing Scheme, over 31 lakh applications have been received so far, out of which verification of 29.97 lakh applications has been completed. Apart from this, 1 lakh application forms have been found duplicated.
