New monsoon active in Madhya Pradesh, IMD alerts for rains in these districts

MP Rain Alert: A low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal. According to weather experts, this strong weather system is likely to reach north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha on Sunday. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Indore and Ujjain divisions from Sunday onwards, which may also witness heavy rainfall at some places.

What is the condition of monsoon (Monsoon today)?

According to the Meteorological Centre, a low pressure area is currently active in the Bay of Bengal. The monsoon trough is extending from the storm formed in the Arabian Sea to this low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal via Malegaon, Brahmpuri, Jagdalpur, Kalingapatnam. Along with this, a western disturbance in the form of a trough is active around Pakistan and a coastal trough is also forming from south Gujarat to Kerala.

Chance of rain (Rain Alert)

Meteorologist Ajay Shukla said the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal will move northwestwards and reach north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha on Sunday. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Indore and Ujjain divisions. Light rain is also possible in the remaining areas.

How much rain in which districts (Weather Update)

From 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday, 23 mm in Ujjain, 19 mm in Naugaon, 5 mm in Khargone, Guna and Malajkhand, 3 mm in Khandwa, 2 mm in Narmadapuram and Indore, 1 mm in Sidhi, and 0.2 mm in Dhar were recorded.
