New twist in the controversy over hoisting the flag in Delhi, LG approves Kailash Gehlot’s name in place of Atishi – LG has nominated Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gehlot to hoist the national flag on August 15 ntc

The controversy over flag hoisting on the occasion of Independence Day in the national capital Delhi is not coming to an end. State CM Arvind Kejriwal is in jail these days, so when he chose minister Atishi to hoist the flag, the Lieutenant Governor put a stop to it. Shortly after this, LG has nominated Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gehlot to hoist the national flag on 15 August.

On Tuesday, Delhi government minister Atishi had alleged that she was being prevented from hoisting the flag. She said, ‘The elected government of Delhi is being deprived of the right to hoist the national flag. A new Viceroy has come, he wants to hoist the national flag.’ She further said that the LG wants to hoist the national flag on Independence Day, hoisting the national flag is the right of the elected government.

Comparison of LG with Viceroy

Atishi further said that on 15th August we hoist the tricolor flag to celebrate the independence of the country and to raise the voice of the common people. Before 1947, the country was under the rule of the British and they used to rule here as per their wish. Today, the elected government of Delhi is being stopped from the right to hoist the flag, so it seems that a new Viceroy has come to Delhi.

‘Officials are not following CM’s orders’

Atishi said, “The elected government and the Chief Minister have the right to hoist the flag on Independence Day in Delhi but he is currently in judicial custody, so he asked me to hoist the flag as a minister. For this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter and ordered that I should hoist the flag on 15 August as a minister but the officials refused to obey this order as well.”

Let us tell you that CM Kejriwal had issued an order from jail saying that Atishi will hoist the flag. But LG did not approve Atishi’s name and chose Kailash Gehlot.

Gopal Rai had brought the message of Delhi CM

Just yesterday, after meeting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail on Monday, Delhi Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai had informed that Atishi will hoist the flag.

Actually, after Deputy CM Manish Sisodia came out of jail, it was being speculated that Manish Sisodia will now hoist the flag on 15 August. Whereas Arvind Kejriwal had earlier also named Atishi. He had also written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi in this regard. Now after the meeting with Minister Gopal Rai, it has become clear that Atishi will hoist the flag on 15 August.

GAD rejected Kejriwal’s proposal

The Delhi government’s General Administration Department (GAD) rejected Kejriwal’s proposal of Atishi hoisting the flag. After this, it is now clear that Atishi will not be able to hoist the national flag at the event to be held in Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day. Rules have been cited while rejecting this proposal. Additional Chief Secretary of GAD Naveen Kumar Chaudhary said, “The Chief Minister’s instructions are legally illegal, which cannot be accepted. According to the jail rules, this is not allowed.”

The program takes place at Chhatrasal Stadium

Actually, every year on the occasion of Independence Day in Delhi, the Delhi government organizes a program in Chhatrasal Stadium. In which the Chief Minister hoists the flag. But this time Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in jail. Therefore, he had authorized his cabinet minister Atishi to hoist the flag. But after not getting approval from LG on his name, now Kailash Gehlot will hoist the flag.
