National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru has once again been ranked as the best law school in India as per the NIRF Rankings 2024 released on Monday, August 12. NIRF 2024 Rankings Live Updates
The ninth edition of the NIRF India rankings was released by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. A host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
While NLSIU from Bangalore bagged the top spot, National Law University from Delhi came second in the list of top law schools in India. In third place is Nalsar Law University from Hyderabad, followed by West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences from Kolkata in fourth position and Symbiosis Law School from Pune in fifth position respectively.
Here is the list of top five law schools in India as per NIRF 2024 ranking:
- National Law School of India University, Bengaluru
- National Law University, Delhi
- Nalsar Law University, Hyderabad
- West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata
- Symbiosis Law School, Pune

Meanwhile, IIT Madras has retained the top position in the overall category. IISC Bangalore secured the second spot, followed by IIT Bombay in third place.
In the management category, IIM Ahmedabad reigned supreme among the top management institutions in India, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi also continued to hold the top spot among the best medical colleges in India. The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh took the second position in the medicine category, while the Christian Medical College in Vellore took the third position.
Interestingly, this year rankings have been published for 16 categories and three new ones have been added: state university, specialized university and open university.
