Bhumika Chawla, who played the character of Nirjara in Salman Khan’s hit film ‘Tere Naam’, once revealed her replacement in the films ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, the actress revealed that she was disappointed only once, when Kareena Kapoor replaced her in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab We Met’. Bhumika also revealed that Gracy Singh was replaced by her in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, starring Sanjay Dutt.

Bhumika said, “The only time I felt bad was when I signed ‘Jab We Met’ but it didn’t work out. Then Bobby (Deol) was paired with me and the film was called Train. Then Shahid (Kapoor) and I, then Shahid and Kareena (Kapoor) were cast like that, but it didn’t matter once and never again “I moved on. “I don’t think about it much.”
He said, “I had enrolled for Munna Bhai MBBS. But that didn’t happen and then I couldn’t work with Mani sir (Ratnam) even in Kannathil Muthamittal.” He also shared details of the conversation he had with Rajkumar Hirani, in which Hirani assured him that his replacement was not due to any mistake of his. He said these types of decisions are common in the entertainment industry and are often made for various reasons beyond the actor’s control.
Bhumika is known for her work in multiple film industries including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. He gained wide recognition for his performance in ‘Tere Naam’. In the year 2008, she worked in the Punjabi film ‘Yaariyan’, in which she acted with Gurdas Maan. After this he appeared in Malayalam cinema. He worked with superstar Mohanlal in the film ‘Bhramaram’. He returned to Bollywood with the 2023 film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.
