Nita Ambani represents the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra in a Paithani saree
According to designer Manish Malhotra, he designed the custom-made Paithani saree especially for Nita AmbaniThe silk saree features an exquisite Paithani border, crafted by Swadesh, which “seamlessly blends royal tradition with unparalleled craftsmanship.” It has its origins in the historic town of Paithan in Marathwada. Meanwhile, the silk represents the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
According to Swadesh’s Instagram page, the Paithani border is handmade Crafted by artisans using intricate golden threads and floral motifs inspired by the rock paintings of Ajanta, the craft has its origins in Paithan, the ancient capital of the Deccan region. It has evolved over 2000 years of artistry, making it a true gem of India’s artistic heritage.
How did Nita Ambani design this heritage gem?
Nita wore a purple saree with a handwoven Banarasi blouse with chevron prints. The golden blouse features criss-cross patterns in a purple hue. It has mid-length sleeves and a V-neckline. She accessorized the traditional ensemble with jewelry embellished with diamonds and rubies, including flower-shaped earrings, a statement ring, and kadhas.
Meanwhile, for the glam, Nita opted for kohl-lined eyes, winged black eyeliner, subtly lined brows with shimmery brown eyeshadow, blush-tinted cheeks, nude pink lips, mascara-adorned lashes and a purple bindi. Lastly, she left her hair loose with a side parting and styled in soft waves.
