The ongoing dispute between Noah Lyles and Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill continues as the world’s ‘Fastest Man’ responded to the challenge of a race from the National Football League (NFL) icon. After winning the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal, Lyles said of the Super Bowl The winners are not world champions, prompting a rather scathing response from Hill.

Tyreek Hill asked Noah Lyles to compete with him and after days of drama and preparation, the track and field athlete was asked if he would seriously accept Hill’s challenge. The 100-meter gold medal winner responded to the challenge in an interview with ESPN on Wednesday.

“I mean, there are two different scenarios, one has to do with being a human right (regarding Hill’s controversial arrest) and the other has to do with sports. But yeah, I mean, nobody should have to go through what he went through, no matter the circumstances. You know. You know, we’re all human beings and we should be treated as such,” said Noah Lyles.

He continued: “But in terms of, you know, running a race, you know, look, man, you have to be serious. Everybody wants to jump to the top. Everybody wants to jump to the top, everybody wants to compete against the fastest man. I didn’t win this title because it’s easy or because I took the easy way out.”

The whole ordeal began when Lyles caused a stir by saying that the Super Bowl winners weren’t exactly world champions last year. This prompted a response from Lyles, who claimed on the Kay Adams show that he could beat Lyles in a race before the 100-meter athlete responded by saying that he couldn’t remember Tyreek’s full name.

“What’s the name of the football guy who looks like a cheetah? Well, I can’t remember his name. Mark! What’s the name of the football player who thinks he’s fast? Tyreek Hill,” Lyles said.

With so much back-and-forth drama between these two global superstars, it’s highly unlikely that fans will ever get to see them compete against each other to settle the score once and for all.
