Nurse murder in Uttarakhand: A man has been arrested in Uttarakhand for allegedly raping and murdering a nurse who was returning home from the hospital two weeks ago. Indian Express has published a news story in this regard. According to the news, the incident took place in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand following which the accused was arrested on August 14.
Police found the nurse’s body on August 8.
According to the report, the nurse was working in a private hospital in Nainital. Her body was found in a vacant lot in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident is dated July 30. The name of the accused is Dharmendra Kumar, a resident of Bareilly. He is a daily wage labourer. Kumar allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered the nurse. The incident occurred when she was returning home from the hospital. On July 31, the victim’s sister filed a missing person complaint with the local police. The nurse’s family was worried as she did not return home. The nurse’s body was found by the police on August 8.
The accused strangled the nurse to death
According to the police, the accused first dragged her into the bushes and raped her. The accused strangled the nurse to death. After this, he robbed the nurse, stole her jewellery and ran away. The police arrested the accused from Rajasthan after tracing the victim’s phone.

SSP Manjunath said the accused is a drug addict. He does not know the woman. On the day of the incident, he had seen the woman going alone. After this he stopped the woman and carried out the incident. He also sexually harassed the nurse. After the murder, he looted the woman’s belongings and fled.
