NY Lagos Strikers announces the full 16-member squad that will participate in the Zim Afro T10 tournament. The announcement also brings a new perspective on NY Lagos Strikers’ determination to reinforce a dynamic line-up of new talents as they build towards the Zim Afro T10 tournament.
With the latest additions to the squad – Thisara Perera, Binura Fernando, Asif Ali, Blessing Muzarabani, Najibullah Zadran, Akhilesh Bodugum and Oshane Thomas – bringing new vitality and strategic depth to the team, the Strikers are expected to enjoy a competitive edge with their latest additions throughout the event.
Sri Lankan cricketer Avishka Fernando is one of the notable additions, standing out as a crucial member of the forward team.
Thisara Perera shares her thoughts on Avishka Fernando and the team composition: “I see this as a rewarding experience for the exposure that NY Lagos Strikers can get and achieve. Especially with the addition of Avishka, we can definitely be assured of a good and exciting season.”
As well as the inclusion of Avishka Fernando, the line-up now includes promising players such as Raveesh Sathsara, Joshua Bishop, Matullah Khan, Newman Nyamhuri, Nyasha Mayavo, Dion Myers, Clive Madande and Ryan Burl. These new additions are expected to bring skill and versatility to the team, improving their prospects in the Zim Afro T10 league.
Head Coach Chaminda Vaas is excited about the latest additions of talent, sharing, “The goal of our new lineup is to experiment with various approaches and plans. We aim to adapt more quickly to tournament obstacles thanks to the diverse skills and experiences each player will offer. The goal of this strategic reshuffle is to give us more opportunities to take advantage of various match scenarios.”
Speaking about the new additions to the line-up, Sagar Khanna, owner of NY Lagos Strikers, added: “I am very excited about the new players we have brought in for the tournament. These guys have the skill and drive that we need to improve. It is important to find the right balance and I have no doubt that these new additions will work in unison with our plans.”
