Odisha News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Subhadra’ scheme on September 17 in Odisha. Earlier on Sunday, the state government started the ‘Subhadra Swagat’ padyatra at 10,000 places across the state. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge of Women and Child Development Department Prabhati Parida inaugurated the programme and said that the aim of this march is to create awareness among women about Subhadra Yojana and welcome this scheme at the village level. Launching the scheme, she said that Padayatras are being organised in each Gram Panchayat under the supervision of Gram Panchayat Level Federation (GPLF) members. Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Shadangi and ‘Mission Shakti’ secretary Shalini Pandit also participated in the padayatra. This journey began from the Giri Durga Temple and ended by reaching the Rama Devi Women’s University in the city. The Mission Shakti Department and the Women and Child Welfare Department organised this padyatra at 10,000 places on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister Shrimati Parida said that so far around 60 lakh women have registered for the Subhadra Scheme. Women who complete the process by September 15 will receive the first instalment of the financial assistance on September 17 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the scheme on the same day. Subhadra Yojana is a women-centric scheme, under which at least one crore women will be provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 over a period of five years. A total of Rs 10,000 (between Rs 5,000 and Rs 5,000) will be given to the beneficiaries in two instalments a year.

The chief secretary instructed administrative-level committees to speed up work

Under the supervision and management of the Subhadra Yojana launch programme, the coordination meeting of various committees related to the State Working Committee formed at the administrative level under the chairmanship of State Chief Secretary and Chairman of the Executive Committee Manoj Ahuja was held at the meeting hall of Lok Seva Bhawan on Sunday. Additional Chief Administrative Secretary and Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Administrative Secretary of Home Department Satyavrat Sahu, members of the Executive Committee, Chief Administrators of various committees, Secretaries of various departments, Commissioner of BMC, Vice Chairman of BDA etc. were present in the meeting. In various committees, the site management committee, guest reception committee, cultural programme committee, city beautification committee, public relations committee, women empowerment committee formed for participation of women, committee formed for coordination of all activities etc. informed about the progress of their work. And in the meeting, the Chief Secretary of the Government directed all the committees to speed up the work and gave necessary advice.
