Over 45,000 graduates and 6,000 postgraduates apply for sweeper jobs in Haryana

Around 46,102 graduates and postgraduates have applied for street sweeper positions in Haryana. Sweepers have applied for jobs contracted by Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, which provides contract labour. As per the available data, many graduates and postgraduates have applied for unskilled menial jobs. The data highlights that around 1,18,000 persons who have studied up to class 12 have applied for the job of sweeper. Nearly 4,00,000 persons have applied for the job.

Basically, candidates are selected through Group D recruitment. A street sweeper hired by the government department gets around Rs 15,000 per month. While applying for a job, people are asked to read the job description carefully. It contains details about the job position, which includes cleaning, sweeping and removing garbage from public areas, streets and buildings.

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission, HSSC, has started the selection process for Group D of the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for 13,536 vacant posts. This time, HSSC will give candidates an opportunity to choose their preferred post and department before the declaration of the result. An overwhelmingly high number of educated candidates applied for this post, albeit on contractual basis, through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRN), the state government’s outsourcing agency.
