Pakistan bomb blast: Two children among three killed in Balochistan market explosion | World News

Three people, including two children and a woman, were killed in an explosion in Balochistan’s Pishin district on Saturday, Dawn quoted hospital officials as saying. The blast also left 13 others injured, including two policemen.

The attack at the main market near Surkhab Chowk is the latest in a series of attacks targeting police officials and checkpoints, with recent incidents concentrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to ANI, Wakeel Sherani, medical superintendent of Pishin Civil Hospital, said that today’s blast resulted in the deaths of two children.

Fourteen people were initially injured, of whom 13 were sent to Quetta Trauma Centre, where one woman later succumbed to her injuries, Dawn reported, citing a list from hospital authorities.

According to local authorities, the explosive material was found on a motorcycle, which caused damage to three vehicles. The Anti-Terrorism Department and the Bomb Disposal Squad quickly arrived at the scene to gather evidence. Further investigations are underway.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, saying “cowardly terrorists who attack small children do not deserve to be called human.”

Notably, attacks have increased significantly since 2022, when the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended a temporary ceasefire with the government and vowed to target security forces.
