Police lathi-charged the protesters gathered at Dakbungla junction in Patna. Bandh supporters created a ruckus here and started attacking vehicles parked on the roads. Upon which the police also took action. Here the protesters set fire near Ambedkar hostel and blocked the road. Traffic was affected due to the fire. Local police and Patna SSP were also present at the spot and were busy controlling the situation. The road was also blocked at Rukanpura of Danapur Bailey Road. Bhim Army and CPI(ML) workers blocked Bihta Chowk in protest against reservation. At Khagaul, protesters took to the road and blocked it.

Mixed effect of bandh in Bhagalpur

Mixed effects of Bharat Bandh were seen in Bhagalpur. Most shops in the main market were closed. While many shops remained open. Vehicles continued to ply on the roads. Heavy deployment of police was also seen at the police station premises. District police officials, including the RPF, were seen preventing protesters from entering the station premises from the main railway gate.

In Rohtas, people from many parties including Bahujan organisations, Bhim Army and CPI(ML) reached Sasaram Chowk post office and blocked the road. Apart from this, in Adi block area including Nokha Kargahar, people reached the Chowk intersection and blocked the main road. People’s vehicles were stopped.

Buses and trains continued to run in Bettiah.

Bharat Bandh had little impact at Bettiah. Vehicular movement was seen continuing on the road. Buses were plying from the stand as usual. The station was also packed with railway passengers.

The effect of Bharat Bandh was visible at Hajipur. Here the road was blocked. Protesters came out on the streets, demonstrated and got it closed. Passengers faced a lot of problems due to disruption in the movement of vehicles. Passengers were seen walking on the road with their luggage. There was a queue of vehicles at Mahatma Gandhi Setu. Road and rail routes were disrupted at Siwan.
