PM Modi calls on Paris 2024 Paralympics medallists, asks them to celebrate their victories

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 4 held a telephone conversation with Medallists of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and thanked them for making India proud.

PM Modi spoke to Paralympic athletes Ajeet Singh Yadav, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Sharad Kumar, Mariyappan Thangavelu and Deepthi Jeevanji. He also shared his happiness over India’s best ever performance. Paralympic Games.

During his conversation with the medallists, PM Modi told the players that their performance has motivated the youth of the country and added that their contribution is helping different sports gain popularity.

PM Modi asked the players to celebrate their victories without worrying about the colour of their medals as each of them had made the country proud.

India surpassed its best-ever medal tally of 21 on September 4 in Paralympic Gamesincluding 3 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze winners after Sachin Khilari bagged a silver medal in the men’s shot put F46 final.

Meanwhile, Paris Paralympic Games Silver medallist Yogesh Kathuniya is hopeful that India will reach the 25-medal mark and said YEARS“India broke the medal record and we hope to finish in the top 20.”

While he is delighted with his performance, Yogesh feels there is still room for improvement.

“I feel proud to have secured two consecutive medals. There is room for improvement, but I am enjoying the moment. I will try to do better in the future,” said Yogesh. YEARS.

Mariyappan Thangavelu, bronze medallist in the men’s high jump T6 final, is aiming to return with a gold medal at the next Paralympic Games.
