PM Modi inaugurates India’s first Vande Metro between Ahmedabad and Bhuj: Know timings, fares and other details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first ‘Vande Metro’ service between Bhuj and Ahmedabad, besides other Vande Bharat trains during his visit to Gujarat on Monday, September 16. This is PM Modi’s first visit to his home state after his return to power for a third consecutive term in June.

The new Vande Bharat trains, which were officially rebranded as ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail’ hours before their inauguration, will operate on several routes including Kolhapur-Pune, Nagpur-Secunderabad, Pune-Hubballi, Durg to Visakhapatnam and Agra Cantt to Banaras.

“Phase II of Ahmedabad Metro Project has been inaugurated and we are on our way to today’s programme with energetic youth,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Vande Metro: route and timetables

The Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro service will cover a total distance of 360 km in 5 hours and 45 minutes, with a maximum speed of 110 kmph. The train will have nine stations.

He Vande Metro Station in Bhuj-Ahmedabad (Train No. 94802) will depart at 5:05 am from Bhuj and will reach Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 am

On his return trip, the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro Station (Train No. 94801) will depart Ahmedabad at 5:30 pm and arrive Bhuj at 11:10 pm

Meanwhile, the train will stop at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya and Sabarmati, according to the official schedule.

Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro Route

The 94802 Vande Bharat Metro The train will leave Bhuj at 05:05 and arrive at Anjar at 05:34. After a two-minute halt, it will reach Gandhidham at 05:55 and halt for 10 minutes. It will then halt for two minutes at Bhachau (06:36), Samakhiali (06:54), Halvad (07:55), Dhrangadhara (08:25), Viramgam (09:25), Chandlodiya (10:03) and Sabarmati (10:15), before reaching Ahmedabad at 10:50.

Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro Route

The train will depart Ahmedabad at 5:30 pm and reach Sabarmati at 5:40 pm, Chandlodiya at 5:47 pm, Viramgam at 6:26 pm, Dhrangadhra at 7:19 pm, Halvad at 7:49 pm, Samakhiali at 8:55 pm, Bhachau at 9:13 pm, Anjar at 10:18 pm, before finally reaching Bhuj at 11:10 pm.

Vande Metro: ticket price

The minimum fare for traveling on the Vande BharaThe metro costs ₹30.

In addition, weekly, biweekly and monthly passes can be purchased with fares equivalent to 7, 15 and 20 single trips.

The time limit for cancellation of tickets will be based on Rules Nos. 4 and 5 of the Railway Passengers (Cancellation of Tickets and Refund of Fare) Regulations, 2015.

In addition, a 5% GST will be levied on the administrative charge, as per existing principles.
