The Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro is an air-conditioned, unreserved train, for which passengers can purchase tickets at the counter just before departure. Western Railway Ahmedabad divisional public relations officer Pradeep Sharma said on Saturday.
“It will have capacity for 2,058 standing and 1,150 seated passengers. WR conducted a trial of the service earlier this week,” he added.
According to WR officials, Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro Service The train will stop at nine stations and cover the distance of 360 kilometres in 5 hours and 45 minutes at a maximum speed of 110 kilometres per hour. It will leave Bhuj at 5:05 am and reach Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 am, it said.
The ‘Vande Metro’ concept is designed on the lines of the indigenous Vande Bharat semi-high speed train service, with fully air-conditioned coaches and ‘KAVACH’ anti-collision system, among other state-of-the-art features, they added.
