Aligarh: A postal official committed suicide on Wednesday in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, after a surveillance team raided his office. The surveillance team reportedly raided the post office in Bulandshahr On Tuesday, around 4 pm, the team conducted an investigation for about 12 hours, following which Superintendent Tribhuvan Pratap Singh went to his home in Aligarh and committed suicide.
In his suicide note, Singh named several officers in his office. The note in Hindi was addressed to the Senior Superintendent of Police of Aligarh and went viral on social media. In the suicide note, written on his official letterhead, Singh alleged that his colleagues forced him to work as per their instructions. After receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot.
Police suspected that the postal official might be depressed due to the surveillance raid. Singh’s younger brother Prempal Singh said he received information about his death from his department after the letter went viral. “After the letter went viral, we rushed to Singh’s house. There was no one there. So we entered the house,” Prempal Singh said.
