Mohamed Salah continued his scoring streak against Manchester United as Liverpool inflicted a humiliating 3-0 defeat on the Red Devils in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Luis Diaz scored twice while Mohamed Salah added a third as Manchester United succumbed to their second consecutive defeat.
Casemiro had a bad night, as his two errors cost him dearly and led to two goals on Sunday. This defeat will undoubtedly raise questions about Erik the Hag‘s credentials, which have been backed up quite a bit by the new management in the transfer.
Salah has been Manchester United’s main tormentor over the past few seasons and this match was no exception as he maintained his perfect record against the Red Devils. Salah said: “I had a good summer, I had a lot of time to be calm and try to think positive. But as you know, it’s my last year at the club.
“I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m here to play football and we’ll see what happens.”
United have signed Manuel Ugarte from PSG and, given Casemiro’s struggles in midfield, he is likely to be moved straight into the first team.
“He knows the game. He will move on, we will move on, he is a great player,” Ten Hag said of Casemiro. “We will continue this season, we will improve the team but we will also improve the players.
“He has shown many times that he has great character and we have all seen great moments from him, being decisive for us in midfield, and he will show it again. I am sure he will recover.”
