A quant mutual fund among top five AUM gainers in three years: Sandeep Tandon

Quantitative mutual fund has been able to capture market share, particularly in the small and mid-cap segments, by around 50-60% in the last few months, Sandeep TandonQuant Mutual Fund CEO told ET Now in an interview.

According to Tandon, the fund manager has consistently maintained this performance over the past few months, demonstrating solid growth.

The fund manager has not only thrived in the short term, but has also emerged as one of the top three to five AUM and portfolio earners over the past three years. This consistency in performance has firmly positioned Quant Mutual Fund among the leading players in the market.

“I think we got a very sizeable share. If you look at the data for the last few months, we were one of the top players in terms of market share; in the smallcap segment, we got 50-60% as well, in the midcap and smallcap segment,” Tandon said in the interview.

He added: “We have been gaining market share and not just in the last few months. We have emerged as one of the top three or five accumulators of assets under management and top five accumulators of portfolio over the last three years. So, it has been consistent, over the last three years we have emerged in that category.”


He assets under management of Quantitative Mid-Cap Fund have increased by 5,340% from Rs 172 crore in August 2021 to Rs 9,367 crore in August 2024. The AUM of Quantitative small cap fund Tandon’s comments highlight the fund’s consistent performance, driven by sound strategies and a strong market presence, enabling it to win the trust of investors. Quant Mutual Fund manages 27 schemes as of August 2024. As per monthly data, all Quant schemes have received inflows in August, except Quant Liquid Fund, Quant Infrastructure Fund and Quant PSU Fund. Quant Liquid Plan and Quant Infrastructure Fund saw an outflow of Rs 114 crore and Rs 112 crore respectively. Quant PSU Fund saw an outflow of Rs 25 crore in August. Quant Small Cap Fund received the highest inflow in August of around Rs 1,005 crore.
